ONE Championship (ONE) made a triumphant return to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for ONE Fight Night 12: Superlek vs. Khalilov. The highlight of the evening was the electrifying showdown between ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 and the promising Russian rising star, Tagir Khalilov.
Right from the start, Superlek asserted his dominance with powerful elbows and devastating kicks that kept Khalilov on the defensive. Despite his struggles to find a response, Khalilov was unable to match Superlek's seamless combination attacks and relentless pace.
In the second round, Superlek seized the opportunity to finish the fight, intensifying his assault and launching a series of powerful strikes. Recognizing the severe damage sustained by Khalilov, the referee swiftly intervened and stopped the action, awarding Superlek a sensational second-round TKO victory.
In the co-main event, Garry Tonon, a former challenger for the ONE Featherweight World Title and the second-ranked contender, showcased his resilience by thwarting the wrestling-heavy offense of the fifth-ranked Shamil Gasanov. Tonon's composure paid off in the second round when he expertly transitioned into a knee bar, forcing Gasanov to submit.
Elsewhere on the card, Iranian heavyweight powerhouse Amir Aliakbari dominated Dustin Joynson, securing a tap-out victory with a barrage of strikes. Additionally, Thai sensation Phetjeeja made a stunning impact by dispatching former ONE World Title challenger Lara Fernandez in a lightning-fast 26-second TKO.
