ONE Championship announces first event in US, Johnson vs. Moraes headlines

ONE Championship (ONE), has announced that it will hold its first event in the United States on May 5 at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado

The highly anticipated World Championship trilogy fight between MMA icon and ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious Johnson and longtime divisional king Adriano Moraes will serve as the main event of the night. At ONE's first event on American soil, the two will settle the score after trading highlight-reel knockout victories.

As part of a historic agreement that began in August, ONE on Prime Video 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III will be free for Amazon Prime subscribers in the United States and Canada.

Colorado was the first state to ever host a major mixed martial arts event in 1993, giving it a long history in combat sports. Since that time, the state has continued to conduct several events in numerous towns and venues.

“This is a monumental day in the history of ONE Championship as we announce our U.S. on-ground debut in Colorado on Friday, May 5. We are very grateful for the support of the state athletic commission and look forward to putting on an unforgettable show for our passionate fanbase in the U.S. and watching around the world,” Chatri Sityodtong noted in the press releases.
