Nagaland’s Avizo Lanamai secured a huge knockout win at Bidang Fighting Championship 6 in Guwahati, Assam on July 21. Avizo, training out of The Combat Academy Nagaland and Kaizen MMA, secured a first-round stoppage win over Wushu star Arun Nagar at the event.

Avizo was initially scheduled to fight Zahoor Shah of Afghanistan at the event but the fight fell through which brought in Arun Nagar as a replacement. Despite the last-minute hiccup, Avizo managed to get the win and bounced back from his loss against Rahul Thapa at MFN 12.

After the win, Avizo went on to call out the winner of Shyamanand vs. Rahul Thapa which is currently scheduled to happen at Matrix Fight Night 15 on August 31 in Noida.

Avizo kickstarted his professional MMA career in 2022 at Matrix Fight Night 9 after a successful amateur career which saw him competing domestically and internationally. The Nagaland fighter secured a win in his MFN debut against Abhishek Negi and followed this up with a win over Dushyant Singh at MFN 10. He, however, suffered his first professional MMA loss against Rahul Thapa at MFN 12 and now has bounced back strongly with the win.
