The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has appointed Andrew Mikhail as Managing Director of PFL Pacific, the organization announced Thursday. Mikhail will immediately assume responsibility for league operations, commercial growth and talent development across the Pacific region.
Mikhail, who previously served as Chief Commercial Officer for the Parramatta Eels of the National Rugby League, brings extensive experience in consumer strategy, marketing, and digital engagement. During his six-year tenure with the Eels, he led initiatives that significantly grew commercial and consumer revenues.
“MMA is one of the fastest growing sports globally, and the Pacific region is home to elite talent, passionate fans, and a growing appetite for premium fight experiences,” said Mikhail. “We’re here to build a sustainable, world-class fight league that champions local athletes and brings premium fight content to audiences across the region.”
Before joining the Eels, Mikhail held senior commercial roles at American Express and Singtel Optus, where he focused on strategic partnerships and business development throughout Asia-Pacific.
As Managing Director, Mikhail will report to PFL International CEO Peter Murray and the PFL Pacific Board. His responsibilities will include spearheading PFL’s expansion in Australia, New Zealand and the broader Oceania region, managing media partnerships and leading athlete development programs.
“Andrew is a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of the local sports market and an impressive track record of growing fan and partner engagement,” said Murray. “His leadership will be instrumental as we deepen our investment in the Pacific region and continue to deliver the most accessible and elite MMA product ever seen in this part of the world.”
PFL Pacific becomes the fourth international league under the PFL banner, following the launch of PFL Europe, PFL MENA and PFL Africa. Backed by a major media partnership with Stan Sport, 9Now and the 9Network, the inaugural PFL Pacific tournament is scheduled to debut in 2026.
