Matrix Fight Night has announced a catchweight showdown between Indian MMA fighters Dhruv Chaudhary and Chaitanya Gavali. The fight will happen at MFN 11 in Delhi on 31 March 2023.

Dhruv and Chaitanya are two of the most experienced names in the Indian MMA circuit having started their career more than a decade back.

Chaitanya Gavali looking to bounce back

Chaitanya, who had won two titles outside India over his impressive career currently holds a professional MMA record of 6-8 to his name. He has been on a slow run lately having lost both his fights in MFN. His promotional debut with Matrix Fight Night happened at Matrix Fight Night 5 where he went up against current MFN Featherweight champion Sanjeet Budhwar. It ended in a first-round stoppage for Sanjeet.

In his second outing in the promotion, Chaitanya went up against current MFN Flyweight champion Angad Bisht. Although he had a strong first round against Angad, the second round proved to be fatal as Chaitanya suffered a submission loss.

He was initially scheduled to fight Punyajit Likharu at MFN 11 but later, he was pitted up against Dhruv Chaudhary.

Dhruv Chaudhary looks to make it 2-0

Dhruv Chaudhary already holds a win over Chaitanya Gavali. These two had met back in 2018 and it was Dhruv that came out on top via a second-round stoppage. He will be looking to get another win under his name when he steps into the cage at MFN 11.

Dhruv is currently on a two-fight losing run with both his losses coming against current MFN Champions Uloomi Karim and Sanjeet Budhwar. Just like Chaitanya, Dhruv will be looking to get back to winning ways.

He is currently 15-9 in his professional MMA career and has three wins in MFN with two of them coming against Sumeet Khade and one against Pawan Goyat.

Matrix Fight Night 11 will be headlined by the MFN Welterweight title fight between Seth Rosario and Darkhanbek Ergeshev. The event will happen in Delhi on 31 March 2023.
