Joshua Pacio would love to test skills against Demetrious Johnson

Joshua Pacio is more than happy to welcome Demetrious Johnson to Strawweight. The Team Lakay star revealed his interest in a recent press conference and noted that he would like to test his skills against a legend like DJ.

"Of course, I’m very happy to welcome DJ at strawweight. I think he will fight another opponent or two in the division before facing me, but even before, we would like to test our skills against a legend and a multiple champions. He is one of my idols and it will be a privilege if I can face him inside the ONE Championship circle,” Pacio said (h/t Sportskeeda).

The Filipino MMA star is currently reigning on top of the ONE Championship Strawweight division and is on a four-fight winning streak. He outclassed Yosuke Saruta in his last fight and had defeated the likes of Alex Silva and Rene Catalan prior to that.

Demetrious Johnson, on the other hand, made his ONE Championship debut back in 2019 and is currently 3-1 in the promotion. He also holds a victory over Pacio’s teammate Danny Kingad. The lone loss in the promotion for Johnson came against Champion Adriano Moraes at ONE on TNT I back in April 2021.

The former UFC Champion has been competing in the ONE Flyweight division so far and it would be interesting to see whether he would make the move to Strawweight and accept the invitation from Pacio.
