Jon Jones has shot down the comparisons with Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former UFC champion reposted a post which was made by LockerRoom which compared the total fights that Khabib Nurmagomedov had in the UFC and the title fight wins that Jon Jones had in the UFC.
The post, which was made related to the recent comment from Dana White who saw Jon Jones above Khabib Nurmagomedov in the GOAT discussion was shared by Jon Jones.
Dana White was asked whether Khabib Nurmagomedov can be included in the Greatest of All Time debates in his recent interview. The UFC president claimed that Khabib retired a bit too early and that Jones had a better career compared to Khabib.
“It's so hard. Obviously, he's talented enough. You know, who knows what he could accomplish but he retired too early. I mean, Jon Jones is probably going to fight at heavyweight this year. You know, whatever you think about John, it's hard not to call him the G.O.A.T. Believe me when I tell you I've tried to convince Khabib to come out of retirement. We'll see what happens over the next couple of years. But I feel like he left in his prime. I mean, look at what he did to Justin Gaethje right before he retired,” White noted in the interview with GQ Sports.
Jones apparently shares a similar vision and noted the following on his Instagram page.
“Pretty safe to say I shouldn’t entertain these arguments anymore,” Jones noted on his Instagram story while sharing the post.
On his Twitter also he posted the same and noted that one of his friends shared the picture with him.
“One of my friends text me this, I just figured I would throw it up on my Twitter. Nothing else to say,” Jones added.
Interestingly, Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov also had great things to say about Jon Jones. The iconic Russian coach once said that Jon Jones is a gift from god.
