UFC president Dana White recently noted that former UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov cannot be considered the Greatest of All Time. Now, one of the most sort-out officials in MMA history, John McCarthy has backed the claim from White.
During his podcast with Josh Thompson, McCarthy noted that Jon Jones is the most talented fighter that he has seen in the octagon.
"I don't disagree with him at all [Dana White claiming Khabib isn't the MMA GOAT]. I think that he did retire too early. I've always said the most dominant fighter I've seen in the cage has been Khabib. He dominated great fighters, 10-8 rounds, consistently at times, [but] Jon Jones is the most talented fighter that I've seen in the cage,” McCarthy noted (h/t Sportskeeda).
He further went on to question the title credentials of the Russian and reminded that Jon Jones has 15 title fights on his resume.
"Here's the big difference: Jon Jones has had 15 title fights. How many title fights does Khabib have? That's a huge difference, and I think that's what Dana is talking about. I think Jon Jones is [the best ever],” McCarthy added.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from MMA with a perfect record of 29-0 to his name. He was 13-0 in the UFC as well and had three-title defences in the UFC Lightweight division.
The credentials of Khabib, however, have been questioned lately by a string of MMA personalities including the likes of Dana White, Anthony Pettis, and Charles Oliveira.
UFC president Dana White even noted that Khabib cannot be included in the GOAT conversation as he retired too early.

As for Khabib, the Russian has been quite successful outside his fighting career. He has a good record as a coach currently and has been enjoying his time as a promoter with Eagle FC.
