Jarred Brooks is now reigning on top of the ONE Strawweight division. He had cleaned out most of the contenders in the division prior to his title win and now, he awaits his first title defense.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Brooks addressed the potential challengers for his title belt and had high praise for Jeremy Miado and Gustavo Balart.
Brooks noted that Miado would be an interesting challenge and said that Balart is like a Mini-Hulk despite his small size.
“You know, you got Gustavo Balart. That dude’s like 4-foot-11, but he’s like a mini Hulk. But at the same time, I feel like I would beat those guys, decently easy. Joshua Pacio was definitely the toughest fight in the division,” Brooks said in the interview.

Speaking about a potential rematch with Joshua Pacio, Brooks added that he is ready to have the same in United States as ONE is set to visit the country in May next year.
“If they wanted to give Josh a rematch, that’s perfectly fine. So it’d be a good story. I went to the Philippines for him and his own country. He comes to the United States on May 5, and fights me in my home country. That’d be cool,” Brooks added.
One of the most interesting parts about the rivalry between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks was the trash talk that went between the two fighters. Brooks noted that it is essential to approach the fight game like a mental warfare.
“You have to approach the fight game like it’s mental warfare and physical warfare. So yeah, it’s just a way of getting in your opponent’s head. And that’s how you win fights at the end of the day,” he added.
