Drake bets $400K on Jake Paul ahead of Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury

Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury happens today. On February 26, the former YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will finally square off against Tommy Fury, the younger brother of Tyson Fury. In their encounter in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, the two will put their respective unblemished records on the line.

Paul has won six straight matches, including a spectacular victory against former UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. Drake, a Canadian musician and actor, has however made a wager, and the stereotype that goes with it may jeopardise Paul's winning streak.

Any athlete or team endorsed by Drake or one that he has wagered on is supposedly doomed to failure, according to an ongoing internet joke.

Drake posted a screenshot of his wager on the Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury fight on Instagram. For a potential payoff of $1,440,000 in Bitcoin, the rapper bet $400,000 worth of Bitcoin that Paul will defeat his opponent by knockout. The world's top cryptocurrency-based betting site, Stake, serves as the musician's sponsor.

The most well-known example of the "Drake Curse" in UFC history occurred at UFC 229, when "Champagne Papi" supported Conor McGregor in his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor shared a photo on social media of himself standing next to the rapper while wearing an Irish flag. The subsequent submission loss to Nurmagomedov in the fourth round brought in a lot of laughter from the rival team's supporters.

A long list of celebrities will be in attendance for the showdown between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.

Mike Tyson, a former heavyweight boxing champion, will be present at the highly anticipated match between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia. Also, Footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will be in attendance for the event. The former Manchester United star had moved to Saudi Arabian Club Al Nassr recently.
