Islam Makhachev does not deserve to fight for the title, says Mike Perry

Mike Perry thinks that Charles Oliveira has what it takes to get the better of Islam Makhachev at UFC 280. Perry talked about the same during his recent interview with MMA Crazy where he revealed that he is going to pick Charles Oliveira as his prediction.

He also went on to say that the UFC should not have stripped the UFC title from Oliveira.

“Definitely Charles Oliveira. I mean, I rock with him, I know his people. I haven’t had the chance to meet him but I think he’s a great champion. Technically, they say, he’s not the champion. Give him his belt,” said Perry, clearly disappointed about Oliveira being stripped of the belt,” Perry noted.

Speaking further, Perry added that Makhachev does not deserve to fight for the title against Charles Oliveira. The 10-fight winning streak of Makhachev has apparently not impressed Perry who admitted that Makhachev has good skills.

“It’d be a tough fight for him though because a lot of people are rooting for Oliveira, and Islam, he’s slick. He’s got some slick moves. So stand on your toes, man. Get the job done and beat that guy because he doesn’t deserve to fight against you for the title yet,” he added in the interview.

The fight between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira is set to headline UFC 280 which will happen in Abu Dhabi on October 22. The fight will determine the new UFC Lightweight champion as well. The division currently does not have a champion after Oliveira was stripped after missing weight by .5 pounds ahead of his fight against Justin Gaethje.

Both the fighters are coming into the fight on the back of impressive winning-streaks and the hype is at an all-time high as well.
