Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Fabricio Andrey will hunt for his milestone 100th career victory when he faces fellow Brazilian Eduardo Granzotto in a featherweight submission grappling match at ONE Fight Night 36 on 4 October in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 25-year-old from Manaus enters the 10-minute bout with 99 career wins and a clear game plan for how he expects the match to unfold against the 23-year-old Checkmat representative making his ONE Championship debut.
Andrey, who began his jiu-jitsu journey at age 13, has built his reputation on explosive techniques and finishing ability since capturing the 2021 IBJJF World Championship.
His trademark flying armbar, explosive takedowns, and dynamic guard game have made him one of the sport's most exciting competitors.
The Brazilian expects to impose his aggressive style from the opening moments against Granzotto.
"It's gonna be nonstop action on my end. I'll be ready to capitalize on any opportunities I see. I expect to get to his back mid-match and choke him out. But I'll be paying close attention to where he puts his arms when defending, as flying attacks are also part of my game," Andrey said.
His promotional debut against Britain's Ashley Williams at ONE Fight Night 30 ended in a convincing unanimous decision victory, but Andrey expects a quicker finish against his compatriot.
"I'm prepared to go ten minutes of straight action, but I don't think it will take that long to find what I'm looking for. And when I find it, it's game over," the confident Brazilian stated.
"Hokage" promises fans will see an evolved version of his already aggressive fighting style in this crucial matchup.
"Expect an even more aggressive 'Hokage' this time around. And when I'm done with Eduardo, you'll be thrilled with who I want next!" Andrey declared, hinting at bigger plans following this bout.
ONE Fight Night 36 will be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Select 2 at 6:30 a.m. IST on Saturday, 4 October.
