In a shocking incident, Magomedrasul Mutaev, a 20-year-old MMA fighter from Dagestan and a student of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov, was recently shot dead in the capital city of Makhachkala. The assailant, identified as 19-year-old Dagestan native Nadyrkhan Kadyrkhanov, remains at large, and authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest.
Dagestan, renowned for producing some of the world's toughest MMA fighters, has been left stunned by this tragic event. Magomedrasul Mutaev, who had only one professional MMA fight in November 2023, emerged victorious against Elgun Yusibov at AMC – Fight Nights 122: Piraev vs. Butorin, securing a unanimous decision.
The news of Mutaev's untimely demise surfaced through a post by 'Red Corner MMA,' which also contained a video allegedly capturing the fatal incident. The post revealed that Mutaev had been scheduled for another fight later this month, making the incident even more poignant.
While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, 'Global Thinker' shared on social media, "At the moment it’s alleged that MMA fighter might have beat up and humiliated the younger guy a few months ago. The 18-year-old waited for Mutaev to come back home at night, as Mutaev was about to reach the door of the house, the guy jumped out and shot him 8 times with a gun."
Igor Sushko, a racecar driver, added his perspective, suggesting that Mutaev had previously beaten up Kadyrkhanov, possibly triggering the violent retaliation. However, the accuracy of these details is yet to be verified.
