Bryce Mitchell feels that the judges were paid to let Islam Makhachev win against Alexander Volkanovski in the main event of UFC 284.
Mitchell noted the same in an interview with Fanatics View where he went off saying that there is a lot of money that is coming from the middle east.
“That fight was rigged as f—k, dude, But he (Makhachev) brings in all that money from the Middle East. When you’re bringing in that kind of oil money and all that Middle Eastern money, bro ... Like, all the rich people in the world, they’re all from the Middle East. I guess they just f—kin’ paid the judges to — I don’t know,” Mitchell said (h/t MMA Mania).
He went on to add that Volkanovski did enough to get a win against the Russian.
“I know Alexander Volkanovski won a decision. I don’t think nothing. I know he won and I know that s—t was rigged, and I’m not f—cking stupid. You can’t tell me that s—t wasn’t rigged. I’m not buying it. You can pay them judges whatever you want to pay ‘em. I know Alexander Volkanovski won that fight,” he added.
Makachev and Volkanovski went head-to-head in the main event of UFC 284 recently in Australia and saw Islam Makhachev getting a decision win. This was the first title defense for Islam and although Volkanovski lost, he had earned respect from the fans for his excellent performance in the cage.
