MMA enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer to witness Luthando Biko's debut in the BRAVE Combat Federation cage, as he has been compelled to withdraw from the BRAVE CF 82 event in Mauritius due to a rib injury.
Biko, a former Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist in Judo, was slated to make his BRAVE CF debut against Georgia's Bidzina Gavashelishvili in a highly anticipated Flyweight bout on May 11.
Regrettably, Biko disclosed that an unforeseen injury has forced him to step back from the fight. He expressed disappointment over the situation but emphasized his eagerness to make his BRAVE CF debut post-recovery.
"It's unfortunate to sustain this injury just before the most significant fight of my career. I've been training intensely, and I'm saddened to have to postpone, but proceeding would not be fair to my fans, my opponent, or myself. I look forward to returning soon to commence my journey towards the title," Biko conveyed.
Recognized as one of the top MMA competitors in Africa, Biko recently joined the ranks of the most global MMA organization in the world and had aspirations of launching his quest towards the BRAVE CF Flyweight title at BRAVE CF 82.
Despite this setback, BRAVE CF 82 boasts an impressive lineup, headlined by the historic trilogy showdown between Jose 'Shorty' Torres and Nkosi Ndebele. The event will also showcase a significant Bantamweight clash between Nicholas Hwende and promotional newcomer Khurshed Nazarov, along with several other captivating matchups.
