When Borislav Nikolić steps into the cage on Friday, Nov. 7, for the main event of BRAVE CF 100, the pressure of defending his world title won’t weigh him down - it will fuel him. The reigning BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion will put his title on the line against Bahrain’s own Hamza Kooheji, the No. 2-ranked contender and one of the nation’s most admired athletes, at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
Just over four months ago, the 32-year-old Serbian delivered a career-defining performance at BRAVE CF 96, submitting Nicholas Hwende with a first-round ninja choke to claim the bantamweight crown before a roaring home crowd. Now, he prepares for an entirely different challenge - defending that title in enemy territory.
“Being a champion isn’t about where you fight; it’s about who you are when you step inside that cage,” Nikolić said. “A true champion doesn’t depend on the crowd, the country, or the comfort. You show up wherever it is and prove yourself.”
Representing CDS Novi Sad Serbia, Nikolić welcomes the challenge of competing against Kooheji in front of his home fans. Instead of intimidation, he finds motivation.
“I know the crowd will be behind Hamza, and I respect that,” he said. “But I’m not bothered by it. I want that noise. I’ll turn that energy into motivation and use it to fuel me every second of the fight.”
Though he holds the belt, Nikolić approaches BRAVE 100 with the hunger of a contender. “Even though I’m the champion, I see myself as the underdog,” he admitted. “That mindset keeps me sharp. I’m fighting like I have everything to gain, not something to protect.”

That attitude has defined Nikolić’s career - one built on resilience, grit, and constant evolution. His clash with Kooheji embodies that spirit: a visiting champion stepping into hostile ground, ready to win through performance and respect.
“This fight is a huge challenge, but it’s one I embrace,” Nikolić said. “I’m not here to break the hearts of Bahraini fans; I’m here to win them over. Respect is universal.”
