ONE 163 Results: Petchtanong Petchfergus Shocks Hiroki Akimoto to win title

Akimoto vs. Petchtanong, the ONE 163 bout, electrified the Singapore Indoor Stadium. A spectacular ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title fight and the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship Final were the highlights of the event's six-bout main card.

The renowned ONE World Title and Grand Prix belts were given to the World Champions by ONE Championship in collaboration with the top premium lifestyle and luxury performance brand TUMI.

Petchtanong Petchfergus shocks Akimoto to win gold

Petchtanong Petchfergus, a Thai veteran, delivered one of the best performances of his career in the main event, defeating divisional king Hiroki Akimoto by split decision to win the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title.

In the opening frame, Akimoto applied the pressure, moving forward with forceful combinations as Petchtanong quietly awaited his chance to respond. In the second round, the Thai fighter used his left knee more frequently, tagging Akimoto's right side of the body, which became bruised and bloody.

The veteran Japanese boxer attempted to fight back in the third frame, but he was unable to do so because he struggled to deal with the challenger's precise timing. After 15 minutes of combat, Petchtanong eventually cruised to a split-decision victory as his self-assurance increased.

Roman Kryklia takes home co-main event

Roman Kryklia, the ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion, defeated longtime foe Iraj Azizpour in the co-main event despite being knocked out in the opening round to capture the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship. Kryklia was knocked out in the first frame by a right hand from Azizpour, but the Ukrainian tower of power dug in and pulled through.

Kryklia stunned the Iranian in the second round with a knee to the centre that left his opponent bewildered. Azizpour quickly gave in to relentless pressure after winning the 10-count as the Ukrainian ended the fight with a barrage of straight punches. Kryklia received a bonus of $50,000 for
