Anshul Jubli of India wins UFC contract, defeats Jeka Saragih in Road to UFC

Indian MMA star Anshul Jubli has earned the UFC contract with a win over Indonesia's Jeka Saragih. Anshul and Jeka locked horns in the final of the Road to UFC Lightweight category in the preliminary fight card of UFC Vegas 68. Anshul was in the driving seat throughout the first round and dominated Jeka Saragih with his grappling prowess. Anshul was taken aback with a quick start to the second round but managed to outclass Jeka and ended the fight in the second round via ground and pound. 

Road to the Finals for Anshul Jubli and Jeka Saragih

Earlier, with his performance in the semi-finals, Anshul wowed everyone. The King of Lions defeated Kyung Pyo Kim in a split decision in the semi-final bout. Kyung Pyo Kim, who was also a betting favourite heading into the contest, was one of the favourites.

Anshul won the match and qualified for the final against Jeka Saragih. In his post-fight interview, he also predicted that Indian fighters would soon rule the MMA world.

Prior to this, in the quarter-finals, Sho Patrick Usami was unable to compete due to issues with weight control, so Anshul received a walkover.

The well-known Indonesian MMA fighter Jeka Saragih prevailed in both of his contests at Road to UFC. In the quarterfinals, Jeka fought Indian MMA competitor Pawan Maan Singh.

Towards the end of the match, Indonesian Jeka defeated two-time Super Fight League champion Pawan by finishing him with a spinning back fist.

In his semifinal fight with Ki Wonbin, Jeka delivered a second finish, swiftly taking out his South Korean opponent.

As for Road to UFC, the Top MMA prospects from Asia had a direct route to a UFC deal thanks to the innovative "win and advance" ROAD TO UFC competition.

Each of the four weight divisions for men—flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, and lightweight—featured eight mixed martial artists. The first round was broken up into four episodes, each of which consisted of four tournament matches and one supplementary match that was not part of the competition.
