Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin Anticipates Long-Awaited Clash with Arjan “Singh” Bhullar at ONE Friday Fights 22
The highly anticipated ONE Heavyweight MMA World Title unification bout between Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin and Arjan “Singh” Bhullar has faced several scheduling obstacles in the past. However, with the agreements now signed and sealed for ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23, interim titleholder “Sladkiy" is eager to step into the ring.
Previous injuries and contract situations on Bhullar's part have caused the postponement of this matchup, leaving Malykhin hopeful that his rival will finally make it to the ring for their Asia primetime clash at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Despite Malykhin's tendency to provoke Bhullar, whom he has referred to as a "chicken" on multiple occasions, his desire to compete supersedes any personal animosity.
In fact, "Sladkiy" would take equal pride in defeating any other top contender who dares to face him in a World Title showdown. With that mindset, he believes Bhullar has taken far too long to defend the gold he won by defeating Brandon Vera in May 2021.
Meanwhile, Malykhin has showcased his dominance with three consecutive knockout victories, maintaining his flawless record of 12-0 while holding the ONE Interim Heavyweight World Title and the ONE Light Heavyweight World Title. Riding this wave of success, the reigning 2022 MMA Fighter of the Year is confident that "Singh" won't be able to keep up when they meet to unify the belts.
“I always aim for a knockout. I always try to be faster than my opponents and give a good show. I have to give it my all so that the audience enjoys those moments. My fight with Bhullar is worth watching simply because I will be knocking him out. Everyone loves knockouts, when big boys fall down – beautiful!,” Malykhin said during his interview with ONE Championship.
