UFC Strawweight Championship Zhang Weili is planning to finish her UFC 248 Fight camp in Las Vegas in light of the Coronavirus Outbreak.

The World Health Organization has declared Coronavirus as a Global Emergency with the death toll going beyond hundreds. Due to this, the Chinese MMA star has decided to change plans and wrap up her fight camp in the United States instead of China.

The same was revealed by Brian Butler, who is the manager of Zhang. Brian noted to MMA Fighting that the team is now working with UFC to sort out the formalities related to Zhang’s travel.

“The UFC has been working hard to expedite getting Weili and her team here for precautionary reasons. I have connected the UFC with Tulsi Gabbard again who has graciously trying to help push things forward,” Butler noted via MMA Fighting.

For the uninitiated, Zhang is all set to defend the title against Joanna J?drzejczyk at UFC 248 which is set to happen on March 7, 2020. Coronavirus was a topic of controversy in the rivalry between these two after Joanna posted a meme about the same on her Instagram page. Zhang eventually criticized Joanna after which Joanna apologized to her fellow fighter.

Apart from the showdown between Joanna and Zhang, UFC 248 will also feature the main event title fight between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero.
