UFC President Dana White has revealed that the fight between Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal could happen at the International Fight Week. Dana revealed the same during the interview with Jim Rome yesterday.

“We’re going to bring them to Vegas. Him and Usman will fight in Vegas probably International Fight Week. If [Masvidal] wins, maybe we’ll do his first title defense down here in Miami. That was always the plan, and then whatever happened with them a couple of days ago, whenever that was. We hadn’t announced it yet, but now, this has forced me to announce it,” Dana White noted [quote via MMA Fighting.com]

Usman and Masvidal had a verbal altercation last day at the Super Bowl Radio Row which saw them trade some words before being pulled apart. The altercation has created some buzz around the fight which was being talked about for quite some time now.

Usman is currently recovering from an injury which he had picked up during his last fight against Colby Covington and is expected to be cleared by March or April. With the international fight week likely to happen in July, the timeline falls well in place.

Masvidal, meanwhile, is coming off his BMF title win against Nate Diaz. He had also teased a potential fight with Conor McGregor but UFC seems to be going ahead with the Usman vs. Masvidal showdown at this moment.
