Valentina Shevchenko had a successful outing at UFC 275 as she retained the UFC Flyweight title at the event with a decision win over Taila Santos. Despite the successful title defense, the performance of Shevchenko had come under the scanner as Santos was clearly giving the champion troubles.
The Brazilian had long spells of dominance against the champion and former UFC Champion Michael Bisping has given his take on the fight. Bisping noted that Shevchenko seemed ‘human’ at UFC 275.
"We saw [Shevchenko] look human. Now, of course, as we know, Amanda Nunes has beaten Valentina Shevchenko on two occasions, okay? But tonight she almost lost at 125 lbs [against Taila Santos]... Shevchenko has almost become her own crypt tonight, because she just dismantles everybody with ease, okay? But not tonight. Tonight, she had to fight through real adversity,” Bisping noted (h/t Sportskeeda).

Taila was having success with her grappling in the opening rounds of the match and an accidental head clash had slowed down her momentum. She has also undergone surgery after the fight.
As for Shevchenko, her reign on top of the UFC Flyweight division continues for the time being and it would be interesting to see what would be next for her.
