Former UFC champion Miesha Tate feels that Taila Santos won the UFC 275 Co-main event. Taila Santos fought Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC Flyweight championship at the event and took the champion to deep waters.

The decision from the judges had raised a few eyebrows and now, former UFC champion Miesha Tate has come out in support of the Brazilian title contender.

“I honestly, in my first impression, thought that Talia won the first three rounds. Going back and watching it, I could see an argument where Valentina, depending on what you favor, could have won the fight. But in my mind, I still feel like Talia Santos won it, especially because I think that the visual of the eye, which I believe primarily came from the headbutt, was calculated in the judges’ minds, however, it really shouldn’t have been, because it was a foul, essentially,” Tate said (h/t MMA Fighting).

She further went on to add that Santos exposed the game of Shevchenko.

“The worst part is I already knew this. Now, the rest of the world knows it. I already believe this. I didn’t want Valentina to look any less indestructible. I wanted her to stay where everybody thought she was so unbeatable, because I already knew I could do that,” she added.

Interestingly, Valentina Shevchenko had called out Miesha Tate after the UFC 275 fight as well. Tate is expected to fight Lauren Murphy at Flyweight next. What do you think of the matchup between Tate and Shevchenko? Let us know in the comments below.
