Ultimate Grappling Championship 2 to happen on June 6 with three categories

The UFC MMA Gym Pune is all set to roll out the second edition of the Ultimate Grappling Championship. The event is scheduled to happen on 6 June 2021 and will have competition across three categories.

The first category will be a 16-man single-elimination tournament under absolute rules when the second category will be a 32-man Single elimination amateur tournament for -65 KG. The last category will be exclusive for women of -65 KG weight and the bracket will be for 16 grapplers.

The detailed rules of the events will be revealed later by the team and there will be cash prizes in each category just like the initial edition of Ultimate Grappling Championship which saw Sumit Bhyan of Team Relentless winning the 32-man grappling tournament.

Amateur categories of UGC 2 will be streamed live and free on the YouTube Channel of UFC MMA Gym Pune when the professional category of absolute rules will be streamed via pay-per-view on BookMyShow.

Details on the registration of the event are expected to be announced soon from the team. Tune in to the website and app for more details.

UGC 1 was held back in February 2021 and saw grapplers from across the country competing in a 32-man single-elimination tournament. It was Sumit Bhyan that emerged victorious in the tournament as mentioned earlier. Sumit submitted Mohit Chawla in the final to take home the cash prize.
