Sumit Bhyan of Team Relentless emerged victorious at the 32-Person Ultimate Grappling Championship which was held in Pune last day.

The tournament, which was organized by UFC MMA Gym Pune, saw grapplers from across the nation competing under single-elimination EBI rules.

Sumit got the better of Mohit Chawla of Warriors Cove MMA in the final of the tournament with a kimura to snatch the tournament and prior to this; he had won almost all of his matchups via kimura as well except one which came thanks to a rear-naked choke.

The Team Relentless star has been a force to reckon with having secured a silver medal at the GAMMA World Championship last year. Interestingly, Kimura was instrumental in his run at the World Championship as well which saw him picking up wins against fighters from Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan ad Russia.

Prior to the run at the GAMMA World Championship, Sumit had secured a win against Muhammad Syafiq Bin Jamalu of Malaysia at the Octagon Fighting Championship as well.

Warriors Cove Academy, Team Fit and Fight, Team Purple Hand Gang, Team Relentless, Institute of Jiu-Jitsu, and Solo were the team represented at the tournament which was supported by FitBu, The Fight Label, Iphysio, Spoden, and LockerRoom India.
