Ukraine MMA Vice President Anton Blank has shared a spine-chilling message about the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Speaking as part of the fundraiser that was set up to support the National MMA Federation of Ukraine (NMMAFU), Blank noted that children and whole families are dying in the country.
"The children are dying; whole families are dying. They are trying to raise my hometown to the ground,” he said. (h/t insidethegames.biz)
The gym in which the Ukraine team used to practice was destroyed by the Russian bombing recently and the team had to withdraw from the inaugural MMA Super Cup as well which happened a couple of weeks ago in Bahrain.
The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation had suspended the Russian Federation as well which was also scheduled to compete at the MMA Super Cup.
The fundraiser for the Ukraine Federation was set up by Izzy Carnwath who works with the IMMAF.
“The home of our Ukrainian friends and colleagues in the IMMAF family is under attack, and they are fighting for their survival. This humanitarian fundraiser is organized to raise emergency money for our MMA brothers and sisters in Ukraine to enable their survival and safety. All money raised will be transferred directly to the National MMA Federation of Ukraine,” the campaign read.
It has so far raised £3,390 out of the goal of £10,000 and you can contribute to the campaign by clicking here.
