Jan Blachowicz could well be on his way towards a Light Heavyweight title shot in the UFC. The polish MMA star secured a first-round knockout victory over Corey Anderson in the main event of UFC Rio Rancho and proceeded to share some words with the reigning champion Jon Jones, who seemed ready to take up the challenge.
With the win, Blachowicz is now sitting on a three-fight winning streak with wins over Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza coming prior to the showdown with Corey Anderson.
Elsewhere, in the co-main event of UFC Rio Rancho, Diego Sanchez took home a win via disqualification. The fight was fun to watch while it lasted as both Sanchez and Michel Pereira were delivering their usual wild style inside the octagon.
Montana De La Rosa, Ray Borg and Lando Vannata also picked up wins at the event while Brok Weaver was given a DQ win after an illegal knee. The biggest story in the undercard came thanks to John Dodson who secured a TKO win over Nathaniel Wood. Tim Means was also stopped by Daniel Rodriguez in the prelims via a submission in the third round.
