UFC Fight Night Tampa: Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Cub Swanson get decision wins

Joanna Jedrzejczyk made a triumphant return to the UFC by outclassing Michelle Waterson in the main event of UFC Fight Night Tampa.

Joanna had the upper hand in striking throughout the five rounds with some occasional spells of burst from Waterson. Midway through the fight, Waterson had a couple of submission attempts which happened against the flow of the fight but the former Strawweight champion was able to fend off the pressure and regain her dominance. With the win, Joanna is now back in winning ways and has bounced backed strongly from her defeat against Valentina Shevchenko.

Elsewhere, in the co-main event, Cub Swanson got the better of Kron Gracie. Swanson managed to stay on his feet throughout the fight and fended off the takedown attempts from Kron successfully. The win is huge for Cub as he was sitting on a four-fight losing streak ahead of the showdown.

In the undercard, Mackenzie Dern’s return after child-birth was spoiled by a resilient Amanda Ribas. Ribas secured a unanimous decision win and delivered a dominant performance as well.

Niko Price also went home with a win after a stoppage win over James Vick in the first round. The victory of Price came via an up-kick from the ground and proved to be a highlight reel finish.
