Team Lakay star Stephen Loman edged closer to a ONE Bantamweight title shot by picking up a decision win at ONE X. Loman went up against Japanese veteran Shoko Sato in Part I of the ONE X card and pulled off an excellent performance to take home the win.

With the win, Loman is now 2-0 in ONE Championship as he had defeated Yusup Saadulaev in his promotional debut back in December 2021. The win against Saadulaev had secured Loman a spot in the ONE Bantamweight top five rankings.

The win over Sato is crucial for Loman as well. This is his 10th straight win and he has not tasted a loss since 2016. The Filipino MMA star’s win over Sato also holds significance since Sato is someone that has wins over names like Kwon Won II and Rafael Silva in ONE Championship.

The only person to defeat Sato in ONE Championship is Fabricio Andrade who interestingly outclassed Jeremy Pacatiw recently.

Kwon Won II has been campaigning for a showdown with Loman for some time now but Loman had noted that he is looking forward to fighting champion John Lineker who was supposed to welcome him to ONE Championship.

With the win, Loman now holds a professional MMA record of 15-2 to his name and the 30-year-old Team Lakay star will be looking forward to his next challenge in the promotion.

ONE X was the 10th-anniversary special card from ONE Championship and has a long list of exciting fights on offer for the fans with the event headlined by the ONE Atomweight title showdown between Angela Lee and Stamp Fairtex. The much-awaited special rules fight between Demetrious Johnson and Rodtang was also another major attraction on the card.
