The result of the Seo Hee Ham vs. Denice Zamboanga matchup which happened at ONE: Empower this past weekend has been upheld after review from the Competition Committee of ONE Championship.

The news was revealed by ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong today through SCMP MMA and he noted that the win that Seo Hee Ham secured at the event will not be changed.

As per Chatri, the vote came out as 9-5 in the review panel with 9 members deciding to uphold the initial decision of Seo Hee Ham winning when 5 members voted to overturn the same.

This means that Seo Hee Ham will now be competing in the semi-finals of the Atomweight Grand Prix alongside Ritu Phogat, Stamp Fairtex, and Itsuki Hirata. Denice Zamboanga, meanwhile, will be competing in a fight which will serve as the alternative for the tournament.

An established name in the MMA Circuit, Seo Hee Ham was making her ONE Championship debut in the match. A former UFC Fighter, Seo Hee Ham had earlier fought in promotions like ROAD FC and Rizin among others after starting her career back in 2007. Prior to the match with Denice, Seo Hee Ham was riding high on a six-fight winning streak as well.

Denice, meanwhile, came into the fight with a professional MMA record of 8-0 to her name. The 24-year-old fighter from the Philippines made her MMA debut back in 2017 and built up a record of 5-0 before making her way into ONE Championship in 2019 when she fought Jihin Radzuan. Denice then fought Mei Yamaguchi and Watsyapinya Kaewkhong and secured wins in those matches as well before her clash in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix.
