Seo Hee Ham and Denice Zamboanga went head-to-head today in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix at ONE: Empower in Singapore.
Seo Hee Ham and Denice gave an all-out war in a fight that went the complete distance. Seo Hee Ham was on the defensive mode for most of the time when Denice was having the aggressive part of the match. However, when the scores came, it was in favor of the ONE Championship debutant via a split decision. With the win, Seo Hee Ham advanced to the Semi-finals of the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix alongside Itsuki Hirata, Ritu Phogat, and Stamp Fairtex.
An established name in the MMA Circuit, Seo Hee Ham was making her ONE Championship debut in the match. A former UFC Fighter, Seo Hee Ham had earlier fought in promotions like ROAD FC and Rizin among others after starting her career back in 2007. Prior to the match with Denice, Seo Hee Ham was riding high on a six-fight winning streak as well.
Denice, meanwhile, came into the fight with a professional MMA record of 8-0 to her name. The 24-year-old fighter from the Philippines made her MMA debut back in 2017 and built up a record of 5-0 before making her way into ONE Championship in 2019 when she fought Jihin Radzuan. Denice then fought Mei Yamaguchi and Watsyapinya Kaewkhong and secured wins in those matches as well before her clash in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix.
ONE: Empower, the all-women fight card from ONE: Championship was held in Singapore and was headlined by the ONE Strawweight World Title fight between Xiong Jing Nan and Michelle Nicolini. The card also featured the quarter-final matchups for the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix, the winner of which will receive a shot against ONE Atomweight Champion Angela Lee.
