Ritu Phogat sees fight with Bi Nguyen as an important one for her career

Ritu Phogat is all set to make her return at ONE: Dangal when she fights Bi Nguyen. Ritu, who has been undefeated in her MMA and ONE Championship career so far, will be looking to keep the streak intact when she locks horns with Nguyen.

Nguyen, meanwhile, will be eager to put an end to her three-fight losing streak in MMA which raises the stakes further.

Ahead of the fight, the Indian MMA star noted that it will be an important fight for her career considering the experience that Nguyen brings to the table.

“It's a very important fight for my career and I'm fighting an opponent with a very strong stand-up game. Bi Nguyen is also more experienced than me. I believe that through this matchup, fans will get to see me showcase my striking skills but also use my wrestling skillset to my advantage,” she noted in a statement to ONE Championship.

Ritu is also set to compete in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix on May 28. The Indian Tigress will fight Meng Bo at ONE: Empower and it would be interesting to see if Ritu can create momentum ahead of the important showdown when she fights Bi Nguyen at ONE: Dangal.

ONE: DANGAL, a tape-delayed event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium that airs on Saturday, 15 May will be headlined by Filipino superstar Brandon “The Truth” Vera who defends his ONE Heavyweight World Title against Indian wrestling champion Arjan “Singh” Bhullar. Gurdarshan Mangat vs. Roshan Mainam will be another major attraction on the card.
