Ritu Phogat gives her take on Angela Lee vs. Stamp Fairtex matchup

ONE X will host the much-awaited ONE Atomweight title showdown between Angela Lee and Stamp Fairtex. The hype surrounding the fight is at an all-time high and a long list of names have already given their take on the showdown.

The latest name to pitch in on the fight is The Indian Tigress Ritu Phogat. Ritu, who was just one win away from challenging for the ONE Atomweight title, noted that it will be an interesting fight between Lee and Stamp.

“Both are terrific fighters. I am excited and looking forward to the match. Angela Lee has tons of experience and has defended her title five times already. Stamp has been a world champion in two sports and is doing well in MMA too. It will be a blockbuster match. But Lee is fighting after two years, so it will be interesting to see how she performs,” she told ONE Championship.

Ritu is coming off a loss against Stamp Fairtex in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix and is currently recovering from an injury. While continuing, she added that she is hopeful of making a return soon.

“I am hoping to return to the Circle very soon. Whoever wins this match and becomes the champion, I will be ready to challenge her in the future. If I get an opportunity, I would like to directly challenge for the title. But if I must face anyone before that, I will be ready,” she said.

Ritu currently holds a professional MMA record of 7-2 to her name and was on a three-fight winning streak prior to her outing against Stamp. She had made her MMA debut back in 2019 and went on to build a four-fight winning streak before suffering her first loss against Bi Nguyen.
