It was special: Reinier De Ridder talks about training with Aung La N Sang

ONE Double champion Reinier De Ridder was recently seen training with former ONE Double champion Aung La N Sang. The Dutchman went over to Sanford MMA in the United States and shared the mats with the Burmese Python.

De Ridder and Aung La have plenty of history as they fought twice in the ONE Championship with De Ridder coming out as the winner on both occasions. Due to the rivalry that these two had, it was a surprise for most fans to see the duo training together.

Speaking to SCMP MMA, De Ridder noted that training with Aung La N Sang was special and added that the former champion met with his family.

“[It was] special, man. After those fights, it was very good to see him. We got some time to chat. He met my wife, my kids. It was very special, very good. I learned some stuff from him. We had some kick-boxing rounds. It was just good. It was very good,” he said.

He further went on to address his history with Aung La and Henri Hooft.

“Obviously I’ve got some history with Aung and Henri, so I spoke to Henri last time and he said, ‘Come on out, let’s have some fun. So I went out to Florida and made it happen. It was amazing. It was such a good time,” De Ridder added.

Reinier De Ridder is currently undefeated in professional MMA at the moment and holds a record of 15-0 to his name. He recently fought to a draw against Andre Galvao at ONE X and before that, he had submitted ONE Welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov as well.
