Two-division ONE World Champion Reinier De Ridder had a huge year in 2021. He captured the ONE Middleweight title and the ONE Light Heavyweight title and scored two wins over Aung La N Sang in the process.
While nothing has been confirmed yet for his return, De Ridder recently sat down with ONE Championship for an interview where he talked about the gifts, he would give to his ONE championship contenders for Christmas.
When asked what he would give to Aung La N Sang, De Ridder said that he would give a handshake to the Burmese Python and hopefully visit Aung La at Sanford MMA.
“A handshake and a congrats on a great career, man. He’s a great fighter. I still like the guy. I’d like to go down there [to Sanford MMA in Florida]. I’m planning a trip to America in January, so I might visit them when I’m over there,” De Ridder said.
Despite the battles that they have been in De Ridder holds Aung La in high regard and it would be interesting to see whether these two will be training together.

The Dutchman had a similar answer when asked about former ONE Heavyweight champion Brandon Vera who interestingly trains with Aung La N Sang now.
“Same thing. Congrats, handshake, pat on the back. Congrats on a great career. He’s been a great fighter. I think it’s not nice to say maybe, but it might be over. He’s done good for himself, he’s done good for his family. He can be proud of himself,” De Ridder added.
