ONE Announces Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix

ONE Championship has held numerous Grand Prixs in recent years, and on 20 May, ONE’s flyweight Muay Thai roster will take center stage for the launch of the organization’s latest edition. 

In the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, eight of the best fighters will face one another until two finalists emerge to meet for the tournament’s coveted silver belt.

Included in the Grand Prix will be ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and top-ranked contender Jonathan Haggerty, who could meet at some point for their long-awaited trilogy.  

Haggerty has been gunning for a third shot at “The Iron Man” and has performed impeccably since their last meeting in 2020, securing two wins against Mongkolpetch Petchyindee and Taiki Naito.

Although Rodtang is participating in the groundbreaking tournament, his World Title will be safe. If he’s defeated at any point, the tourney winner will earn a shot at his gold following the Grand Prix's conclusion. However, if the Thai megastar manages to win, he’ll add the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix Championship silver belt to his collection.  

The ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix quarterfinal brackets have been set, and the matchups are incredible from start to finish.  

Rodtang is set to face British star Jacob Smith; Jonathan Haggerty takes on three-time Muay Thai Champion Walter Gonclaves; Superlek Kiatmoo9 puts his skills to the test against Japanese Shoot Boxing Super Bantamweight Champion Taiki Naito; and former WBC and WMC Muay Thai World Champion Savvas Michael squares off against debutant Amir Naseri.
