ONE 157: Petchmorakot vs. Vienot gave martial arts fans around the globe two incredible World Championship matches and the quarterfinals of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix.

In the main event on Friday, 20 May, southpaw fighters Petchmorakot Petchyindee and Jimmy Vienot closely contested the Thai’s ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title.

Vienot had some success mainly from his high kicks and punch combinations. He routinely dumped Petchmorakot, forcing the World Champion to pick himself up from the canvas again and again.

The tides turned midway through the bout, however, when Petchmorakot upped the pace and landed a cross that gave Vienot an eight-count. While the two fought until the end, Petchmorakot was declared winner and earned a US$50,000 performance bonus, too.

In the co-main event, Prajanchai PK.Saenchai started off strong by landing a flurry of punches against Joseph Lasiri, using his footwork to move around the ONE Circle.

Initially, it appeared that Prajanchai had control over Lasiri. However, as the fight progressed, the Italian picked up speed and repeatedly delivered damaging punches. He then used those punches to set up his elbows.

While Prajanchai pushed back, the two men entered an elbow war that left the defending king exhausted and hurt. He couldn’t answer the bell for round four, so Lasiri earned the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title and a US$50,000 bonus.
