Matrix Fight Night rolled out Matrix Fight Night 9 also known as MFN 9 from Delhi Today.
The event was headlined by the super-fight between India’s Seth Rosario and Afghanistan’s Zahoor Shah when Sanjeet Budhwar vs. Dorde Stojanovic served as the main event.
In the super fight, Seth Rosario stopped Zahoor Shah in the first round. Seth was looking for a submission from the opening bell as well and almost got a Kimura towards the end of the first round. Though Seth did not manage to get the submission, he transitioned into ground and pound to get the win via stoppage.
Sanjeet Budhwar and Dorde Stojanovic delivered a three-round war that had plenty of action. Dorde had his success on the ground when Sanjeet had his moments on the standing. Dorde even managed to open up a huge cut on Sanjeet but the Indian showed no signs of slowing down. After three rounds, the judges ruled the fight in favor of Sanjeet.
Jojo Rajkumari scored a quick KO against Mary Jane of the Philippines in the co-main event. Hailing from Manipur, Jojo needed only seconds to finish her international opponent and improved her winning streak to two fights with the knockout win.

She had earlier stopped Ishika Thite in her last outing and had a close split decision loss to Puja Tomar as well.
Srikant Sekhar got back to winning ways as he submitted Sumeet Khade in the second round of their lightweight contest. Srikant came into the fight on the back of his KO loss against Zahoor Shah while Sumeet came into the fight on the back of a loss as well.
With the stakes high, both the fighters delivered an exciting fight but it was the ground game of Srikant that proved to be the difference as he submitted Sumeet via a D’Arce Choke in the second round.
The main card of MFN 9 started with Puja Tomar securing a 20-second stoppage win against Tenzin Pema. Puja’s finish was the second fasted in MFN history and made a statement with her win. Puja had earlier secured a close win against Jojo Rajkumari in MFN when it was the promotional debut of Pema.
Angad Bisht made quick work of Himanshu Kaushik in their flyweight bout. Angad managed to lock in the Rear-Naked Choke into the second minute of the fight and got a submission win. He also called for an international opponent in his post-fight interview. This was the second-straight win for the Angad as he had stopped Chaitanya Gavali in his last bout.
Nagaland MMA Fighters make a winning statement on MFN 9 undercard
The MMA fighters from Nagaland made a statement on the undercard of Matrix Fight Night 9 in Delhi. All three fighters from The Combat Academy Nagaland picked up a win on the undercard.
Arsenba Ozukum opened the card against Bishwamitra of Manipur in a Flyweight contest and secured a dominant decision victory. Arsenba was dictating the fight with his low-kicks and gave no room for Bishwamitra to make a comeback in the fight. This was the second-straight loss for Bishwamitra in MFN when it was a memorable promotional debut for Arsenba.
Imkongsunep Jamir made a statement in his fight against Kapil Kumar as he secured a second-round finish. Imkong was scheduled to fight Sahil Rana initially but an injury to Sahil brought Kapil into the picture on short notice. Imkong dominated the fight throughout the two rounds with his ground game and took home a comfortable win.
Avizo Lanamai made it 3-0 for Nagaland on the MFN 9 undercard with a brilliant performance against Abhishek Negi. Avizo was in the driving seat throughout the three rounds and took home the decision win in the end.
In the other undercard fight, Digamber Rawat stopped Prakram Dandona in the second round. Digamber had a strong performance in his promotional debut and was lighting up Prakram with his impressive combinations. You can see the results from MFN 9 below.
