Matrix Fight Night returned Friday night with Matrix Fight Night 4 at the Al-Nasr sports club and the event had seven exciting fights on offer.

Sumeet Khade gets another highlight-reel KO

The fight night opened with the Featherweight showdown between Sumeet Khade and Pawan Goyat. The last time these two had fought, it produced the head kick knockout which went viral on the internet. It wasn’t different this time around.

Sumeet landed a vicious head kick halfway through the first round which secured him the victory. Pawan had to be carried out on the stretcher as the result as well.

Sanjeet Budhwar stops Shyamanand

Sanjeet Budhwar got the better of Shyamanand in the second fight as he managed to secure a first round TKO win. Sanjeet landed some huge punches which got Shyam off balance and to the ground. Although Shyam tried to land a takedown towards the end, Sanjeet was able to fend off the same and managed to finish the fight in style.

Vikas Ruhil submits Kuldeep Sekhon

Vikas Ruhil and Kuldeep Sekhon had a to and fro fight while it lasted as each fighter was looking to outclass the other. The fight had its moments on stand-up and in the ground but it was the ground game of Vikas that eventually paid the dividend. He managed to lock in an Americana in the third minute of the second round to which Kuldeep tapped.

Ishika Thite gets a decision win over Naipunya Sunil

Naipunya and Ishika went full-on brawl mode from the start itself with both fighters landing. Ishika managed to push Naipunya up against the cage and get control for some part of the first round while Naipunya managed to land a takedown towards the end. Ishika, however, countered well and got on top of Naipunya to finish off the first round.

Both fighters were a bit more cautious in the second round as Ishika was using her karate skills to keep the explosive boxing of Naipunya at bay. The third round also saw a similar story as Ishika was successful in pushing Naipunya against the cage and controlling whenever the Keralite managed to gain some momentum. Ishika got the neck of Naipunya just across the halfway mark of the third but failed to completely lock in a guillotine. However, she had done enough to secure a decision win on the scorecard.

Ravinder Balhara drops Abhishek in the second round

Ravinder and Abhishek threw bombs at each other in the first round of their showdown. While none of the fighters went down as a result, it did offer plenty of action for the fans. Ravinder successfully fended off a couple of takedown attempts from Abhishek as well before the round closed even though he was knocked down once. Abhishek once again dropped Ravinder in the second round only to see Ravinder pounce back with some punches of his own. After a chaotic sequence, Ravinder landed a beautiful knockout to take home the win in the second round.

Anshul Jubli finishes Rajith

Anshul Jubli, just like his last two fights, relied on his ground skills to dominate his opponent and got a stoppage in the first round itself. Although Rajith showed some resilience, Anshul proved to be too much to handle for the Kerala star. With the win, Anshul improved his record to 3-0.

Anti-Climatic end to the Main Event

Pawan and Jason took a cautious start in the first round of the main event as both fighters were seen measuring each other without taking a major risk. Pawan managed to take down Jason halfway through the first round but failed to come up with something productive from the same.

Jason almost finished off the fight with a rear-naked choke in the second round but Pawan fought through the choke and landed some huge punches on Jason who was on the ground.

The fight had an anti-climactic end, however, after the second round when Jason broke his wrist and had to withdraw from the fight which in turn gave Pawan the win.
