Maria Ribeiro is all set to go up against Karolina Wojcik at Brave CF 30 in India. With a professional record of 5-2 to her name, this will be the second time that Maria will be fighting in India.

Her first outing in the nation came back at Brave CF 20 where she fought Micol di Segni and went home with a first round stoppage victory. The whole thing was a memorable experience for Maria and she is promising a similar show or even a better one when she fights at Brave CF 30.

It was a wonderful experience [fighting in India]. It is something that I will always keep with me for the rest of my life as I loved fighting for the Indian fans. Fans can expect a show. It’s going to be the show like last time around and I have trained so well this time that it could even be a better show this time around,” she said.

Hailing from Brazil, Maria had some high praise for the Indian people and the MMA fans in general and noted that she is also open to fighting an Indian in India sometime in the future if that is what the fans want to see.

“Manjit Kolekar maybe, if that’s what the Indian fans want to see, that’s what we are here for, to give them a good fight,”

While her love for the Indian fans is one thing, there is something else that brought her back to India: Biriyani, which she also says is the first thing that comes to her mind when she hears the word India.

“When I went back to Brazil, I tried to find a place that had biriyani but was not able to find it. And I was really looking forward to returning to India so that I can get biriyani as well. I’ve tried some varieties and I like the chicken one better,” she added.

Returning to a serious note, Maria also has some plans laid out for her near future.

“After this fight, I’m hoping to get a higher fight. I do have an opponent in mind but I’m not a person to call out opponents and I’ll leave it at that but I’m sure Brave is going to give me that fight if I win this one. I’m interested in fighting for a title belt in Brave in 2020. Hopefully, it will happen,” she concluded.

The strawweight fight between Maria and Wojick happens on November 23, 2019 in Hyderabad at Brave CF 30.
