One of the less talked about fights on the Matrix Fight Night 3 card is the showdown between Mayank Kohli and Punyajit Likharu. Although the fight might not be getting the spotlight that it deserves, it is bound to be one of the most exciting showdowns on the card considering the resume that Mayank and Punyajit holds.

Training out of Warrior’s Cove Mixed Martial Arts, Mayank has been a mainstay in the Indian grappling scene for quite some time now. He recently secured a bronze medal at the ADCC India Open and has been a force to reckon with on the ground.

Punyajit, meanwhile, is no walkover as well. He currently trains out of Bali MMA and has his own set of medals to showcase in some major grappling tournaments. He used to train out of Crosstrain Fight Club which is known for producing high level grapplers.

With the talent that these two possesses, the Featherweight fight on the main card could be a technical masterpiece.

“You are absolutely right when you say it's going to be a technical contest. I think our fight will showcase the skillset, of how far Indian fighters have come along, we are the new era of Indian MMA and it will be a battle of the smarter fighter. And I will be that one. I have had a great camp in Bali MMA and cannot wait to show my skills to the world. Make my teams and my family proud” Punyajit said in an exclusive statement to LockerRoom India.

Mayank, also held a similar opinion and urged the fans not to miss the fight.

“I believe that too. I think this fight has the potential to be the fight of the night or even bigger than that. Message to the fans viewing this event will be - Go ahead and miss any other fight on the card but not this one. Third fight on the card. Watch , enjoy and then you can leave as per your Friday night schedule,” Mayank said in an exclusive statement

The Warrior’s Cove MMA star went on to add that he holds respect for Punyajit but asserted that when the cage door closes, it is going to be a fight.

“As far as my opponent goes, I think he's talented and quite technical with his overall game. I respect him from what I've known of him, and I think that's mutual, but when that door closes, It'll be a fight. The only intention will be to finish the fight,” Mayank Concluded.

Matrix Fight Night returns this Friday Night with Matrix Fight Night 3 which will be held in Mumbai. The fight night will be headlined by Pawan Maan vs. Sandeep Dahiya.
