Matrix Fight Night made a triumphant return with MFN 3 in Mumbai last night and delivered a string of exciting fights which was overshadowed by a controversial main event finish.

Main event ends in controversy, Seth Rosario dominates

Sandeep Dahiya and Pawan Maan headlined the card and was a fun fight while it lasted. Pawan had the upper hand throughout the first and second rounds and landed some huge punches. While an illegal kick slowed down the momentum of Pawan early in the third, he landed a vicious body kick in the last 10 seconds of the fight which almost seemed like a stoppage. However, much to the surprise of everyone, the fight was ruled as a unanimous draw when Pawan seemed to be winning clearly on points.

In the co-main event of the night, Seth Rosario delivered the most dominant performance of the night as he submitted Prakram Dandona in the second round. After a wild start, Seth was raining down punishment on Prakram throughout the two rounds before he finally locked in a rear naked choke to get the submission. After the fight, Seth also expressed his desire to fight Mukesh Gora once again.

Dhruv Chaudhary and Punyajit Likharu secure decision wins

The rivalry between Sumeet Khade and Dhruv Chaudhary is what kick-started the main card. Surprisingly, the fight went the distance with both Dhruv and Sumeet having their moments. The judges ruled the fight in favour of Dhruv in the end and marked a strong return for him after his loss against Angad Bisht at the last event.

Punyajit Likharu vs. Mayank Kohli lived up to the expectations as the fighters delivered three action-packed rounds. It was the stand-up game of Punyajit that proved to be the difference as he was able to get ahead of Mayank and win on points.

Anshul Jubli dominates again, Nikhil Bhatt and Jacky Gahlot secure wins

Elsewhere, Anshul Jubli produced yet another impressive performance as he outclassed Amit Raj. Anshul was successful in neutralizing Amit’s power and added another unanimous decision win to his resume.

Nikhil Bhatt also got his place in the winner’s column after finishing Gaurav Gulliya in the third round. Nikhil dominated the first round with his stand-up game but was outclassed by Gaurav in the ground on the second. However, Nikhil came back stronger in the third round and finished the fight.

Jacky Gahlot and Angad Bisht, meanwhile, delivered a three-round war. Angad got a huge hematoma on his leg halfway through the fight but still pushed forward and went the distance. The judges were also split on the close fight with two judges ruling in favour of Jacky, which in turn gave him a split decision win.

The amateur card saw Siddharth Singh Dhami, Abhimanyu Rai and Krishna Heer pick up wins. Both Siddharth and Abhimanyu secured unanimous decision wins and continued their excellent run in MFN. Siddharth outclassed Surya Negi while Abhimanyu got the better of Shashikant Singh. Krishna, meanwhile, went home with a TKO win against Ajay Tomar.
