If Lovlina wins the fight, she will be the first Indian boxer to confirm a medal other than Bronze at the Olympics. In 2008, Vijender Singh had secured the first Olympic Medal in Boxing for India when he won the Bronze. In 2012, Mary Kom became the second person and the first Indian woman to win a medal in the Olympics when she won the Bronze.
