Mizoram Boxer Lalrinsanga Tlau set to fight for the WBC World Youth Title

LockerRoom India EXCLUSIVE: Mizoram Boxer Lalrinsanga Tlau is all set to fight for the WBC World Youth Title in March 2021. Boxing Coach and Promoter Mujtaba Kamal revealed the same in an exclusive statement to LockerRoom India.

Mujtaba Kamal had met with Mizoram Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte last day in Mizoram to discuss the development of professional boxing in the state and the title fight of Lalrinsanga Tlau will be part of the project.

“Mizoram has a lot of talent when it comes to boxing. We are going to develop professional boxing in Mizoram and the Sports Minister has extended his complete support for the same and organizing events” Mujtaba Kamal noted.

Lalrinsanga Tlau, also known as Sangtea, currently has a professional boxing record of 3-0 and is ranked first in Super Featherweight rankings for India according to BoxRec. He is also ranked fourth in the pound-to-pound BoxRec rankings for India.

He has been under the watchful eyes of Mujtaba Kamal and Coach R.Lalchhuanawma who has been crucial for the development of boxers in the state of Mizoram. Coach Andrew Khiangte has also been playing an important role in the development of the young boxer. 

His last fight came at the Caesars Palace in Dubai where he secured a unanimous decision victory and he is expected to have his next fight by the end of January in Mumbai prior to his WBC Youth title fight.

The title fight of Lalrinsanga Tlau is expected to be a huge boost for the Mizoram boxing circuit and is bound to serve as a motivation for the upcoming boxers in the state.
