Khabib laughs off Jake Paul challenge, says anybody can box but never wrestle

Khabib Nurmagomedov has not taken the challenge from Jake Paul seriously. The former UFC Champion was challenged for an MMA fight by YouTube sensation Jake Paul recently and Khabib laughed off the challenge in a recent interview.

“[A fight] with me? Come on. Jake Paul. I don’t think so. In MMA, [he would last] a couple minutes. He’s late a little bit cause I am finished,” Nurmagomedov said during his appearance on the Full Send Podcast (h/t MMA Fighting).

The Russian MMA star further went on to give his take on the skillset of Jake Paul.

“I watch his sparring or some video he was doing MMA with someone. He has to learn a lot. On boxing, he knows how to punch. He’s not bad in the boxing game. Anybody can box. But you can never wrestle, this is completely different. I think if he wants, we can give him a chance. We can sign him. We can pay him. We’ll see,” he added.

Khabib recently had a successful outing in the United States as a promoter for Eagle Fighting Championship and had welcomed Jake Paul to fight in Eagle FC as well. Jake Paul, however, reacted by saying that he is ready to fight in Eagle FC only if he gets Khabib as his first opponent.
