The UFC release of Kevin Lee is something that made headlines. Although Lee was going through a slow run, not many MMA fans expected him to be released from the promotion.
However, the UFC release apparently was a blessing in disguise for Lee who has now signed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle Fighting Championship. The announcement of Lee’s signing was made by the Eagle FC team recently in a press conference and Lee is expected to fight former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez in his promotional debut.

Ahead of kickstarting his Eagle FC career, Lee sat down for an interview with BJPenn.com where he revealed his condition for returning to the UFC.
“Only reason I would go back is to fight Charles Oliveira if he has the title and they offer me a direct title fight. Other than that, maybe we can co-promote or something,” Lee told.
Charles Oliveira already holds one win over Lee and Lee feels that the Brazilian champion is underrated despite being the Lightweight champion.
“It was a good win. He’s solid, he’s got skills everywhere, and is a tough puzzle to figure out. He’s the best lightweight in the world… After a performance like that, you have to tip your hat, you have to give it to him. I didn’t learn that until the second round of our fight. He’s got real skills and keeps coming too, if people are still sleeping on him then that’s their fault. That’s just me giving his due because he deserves it at this point,” Lee concluded.
