After his stints in Extreme Couture and Tristar, Kevin Lee is all set to train at Sanford MMA under Henri Hooft. Lee detailed about the move to Sanford MMA during his recent interview with The Schomo and mentioned that he is someone that loves to travel around and meet new people.
Lee, who was released recently from the UFC, had signed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle Fighting Championship. He is expected to make his debut earlier next year in Eagle FC and rumors suggest that he will be fighting Diego Sanchez. From the looks of it, Lee will be having his camp at Sanford MMA.
“It is something that kind of came to me. Someone approached me with it, I think it was Derek Brunson who talked to me about it first. I just constantly kept hearing the name and I think people get confused on how I do my training and stuff, I’m kind of just like a maverick. This is just the way I’m. I like martial arts because it is everywhere and I kind of just like training and traveling and finding different people that I can stick with so as soon as I walked into Sanford MMA, it was like a couple of guys that I naturally kind of gravitated towards,” Lee noted.
Sanford MMA has been home to some of the top MMA athletes in the world with names like Michael Chandler, Kamaru Usman, and Aung La N Sang being top names that have worked in the camp.
At one point, Sanford MMA had titles in Bellator MMA, UFC, and ONE Championship as Chandler, Usman, and Aung La N Sang were champions in their respective promotions.
