Karthik Sathish of India to fight Heru Purwanto for WBC Asia Silver Title

Indian boxer Karthik Satish is all set to fight Heru Purwanto of Indonesia for the vacant WBC Asia Silver Lightweight Title. The fight will headline the Hell’s Bay event hosted by The Indian Art Revolution on 5 December 2021 in Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.

Managed by Grassroot Boxing Promotions and Management, Karthik has been an active name in the Indian boxing circuit. Karthik is currently undefeated in his professional boxing career so far with a record of 7-0 to his name. He is coming off a seven-fight winning streak and secured two wins over Jayapal and a win over Sabari J in his last three fights. He is currently ranked fourth in India for Lightweight as per BoxRec.

Heru, meanwhile, holds a professional record of 29-15-2 to his name and is coming off two back-to-back wins. The 35-year-old has been competing since 2004 and has showcased his skills around the globe over the past 16 years. In his last fight, he outclassed Hendy Luis via a decision and prior to that, he had ended the 15-fight winning streak of Hebi Marapu as well.

Apart from the WBC Asia Title fight, the inaugural WBC India title fight will also be on the line at the event. Akashdeep Singh and Sabari J will be fighting for the WBC India title. Asad Asif Khan, Gurpreet Singh, Manikandan V are some of the other boxers set to compete at the event.
