Joshua Pacio looking forward to a fight with newcomer Jarred Brooks

Reigning ONE Championship strawweight champion Joshua Pacio has a new challenge in his division: Jarred Brooks. A former UFC Fighter, Brooks made his ONE Championship debut at ONE: NEXT GEN II and submitted Pacio’s Team Lakay Teammate Lito Adiwang to make a grand promotional entry.

Now that he has secured a win against a top-five name in the division, Brooks might be on his way to a potential title fight in the future. In a recent interview, Pacio opened up about the fight between Brooks and Adiwang and also opened up about the possibility of fighting Brooks.

"Lito did well. He defended the guillotine and he landed some strong shots especially that leg kick that Brooks asserted was a low blow but was not," Pacio noted about the performance of Lito Adiwang.

The Champion further stated that he has been sharpening his skills and gave props to Brooks for the excellent performance.

“We've been and are working on sharpening our weapons. I can't wait to go back inside the circle to face anyone who's worthy of and show everybody a constantly evolving Joshua Pacio. I think Brooks is very good at hooking audiences to watch a fight plus he has skills and wide experience. For sure, his entry here in ONE raised the bar higher for the strawweights here,” he added.

While the respect is indeed there, Pacio has no intentions to make matters easy for Brooks when the fight happens.

"To Jarred Brooks, welcome to my division. But don't you ever think that we'll hand you the belt that easily," he concluded.
