UFC Fighter Joanne Calderwood noted that she is interested in exploring Professional Wrestling and WWE just like Ronda Rousey. The Scottish MMA star revealed the same during her recent interview with the Scottish Sun where she also talked about Drew McIntyre who used to live near her in Ayrshire.
“I would like to try wrestling. Maybe in the future but I also know it’s very hard on your body, so maybe coming out of MMA into wrestling wouldn’t be a good retirement. But yeah, I would still like to try it,” Calderwood said.
Calderwood currently has a professional record of 15-6 to her name having fought names like Jessica Andrade, Jessica Eye, and Cynthia Calvillo among others. She made her professional MMA debut back in 2012 and had been competing across multiple promotions including the Super Fight League, Invicta FC, and CWFC before starting with the UFC back in 2014 itself through The Ultimate Fighter.
“I’m based in Las Vegas and Drew is based in Florida but we lived a lot closer back in Ayrshire. I know Drew is doing awesome and he’s a big star with a bunch of money now,” she added.
She further went onto add that her clumsiness might become a problem if she does decide to switch to Professional Wrestling.
“I guess when I’m in the Octagon I’m fine but I’m so clumsy outside of training. But I would still like to give wrestling a go one day,” she concluded.
